Karwa Chauth: The fast observed on the day of Krishna Paksha Chaturthi (Karka Chaturthi) in the month of Kartik is called "Karva Chauth Vrat". This is a major festival of Saubhagyavati (Suhagin) women in our Hindu religion. Since time immemorial, on this day, married women, wearing new clothes, etc., keep this fast with great enthusiasm for the long life of their husbands, and after staying fast for the whole day, they take food only after offering food to the moon in the evening. Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati, Lord Kartikeya and Ganesha are worshiped on this day.

It is a festival of Punjab Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan of India, however in Punjab this fast is started by eating sargi before sunrise which is called Karwa Chauth sargi but this is not the custom everywhere.

Is. In other places, women start this fast according to the traditional custom of their family. The fast of Karva Chauth is celebrated before Ahoi Ashtami fast and Deepawali.

Karwa Chauth Puja Vidhi

On the day of Karva Chauth, wake up early in the morning, after taking bath etc., wear clean clothes and take a vow of fasting. To take a resolution, chant this mantra

"Mum Sukhsaubhagya Putra-Grandson Susthira Shree Prateye Karka Chaturthi Vratamahan Karishye".

Make a plank from ocher on the wall of the temple of the house and grind rice and make a picture of Karva with it. This ritual is called Karva Dharana. In the evening, keep such a photo of Goddess Parvati and Shiva on a wooden pedestal, in which Lord Ganesha is sitting on the lap of Goddess Parvati.

- Listen or read Karva Chauth fasting story by filling water in a Unfilled Karwa. Offer make-up material to Maa Parvati or do her makeup. After this, worship Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Shiva. Worship the moon after moonrise and offer Arghya.

- Open your fast by drinking water from your husband's hand or eating a morsel. After worship, take the blessings of mother-in-law and elders of the house.

Important Rules of Karva Chauth Puja

  1. In this fast, there is a custom of eating sargi somewhere, then it is not there. Therefore, fasting should be done according to your tradition. Sargi is given in the morning at the beginning of the fast. In a way, it gives you energy throughout the day for fasting.
  2. In this fast, women should do complete makeup. In this fast, women should do sixteen makeup from Mehndi.
  3. The fast is kept till the arrival of the moon: This fast is kept till the arrival of the moon. After that the fast is broken by drinking water from the hands of the husband. But before this Nirjala fast is kept. Everywhere fast is kept according to their own customs.
  4. Worship with Karvas: In this fast, earthen Karvas are taken and worshiped from them. It is also very important to listen to the story of Karva Chauth Mata. At some places, according to the capacity, there is a practice of making gold, silver and brass.
  5. In the worship of Karva Chauth, besides Karva Mata, Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Mata Parvati and Kartikeya along with Nandi are also worshipped.
  6. After worship, the moon is seen through a sieve and after that the husband is also seen through the same sieve. Then that sieve should not be used for domestic work.
